Wasp Control

Greenwood is home to quite a few undesirable pests, including the less than welcome wasp. The appearance of them is determined by the type it is, however, most have two pairs of wings and squeezed waists.

About Wasps

Certain wasps are social and like to reside in colonies, much like bees, and can vary from hundreds to 1000’s in a single colony. The female type take care of the nest and offspring. The unsocial type species prefer to dwell alone and will lay offspring, however they will leave the offspring inside the nest unattended.

Greenwood is home to both predatory and parasitic types. The upside to wasps being predatory is they kill and devour other irritating bugs that they use to feed their larvae. Parasitic types will lay eggs in a spider or caterpillar to be sure the larvae can eat the living host.

Understanding Wasps

Not all wasps are hostile but there are ones that can really pack a punch once they sting you. Sadly, they can and will sting several times if necessary. They can be a benefit for the natural environment for the act of preying on many other invaders that ruin landscape flowers and plants and vegetation.
